The state government’s scheme to promote the cultivation of fruits, cluster-based fruit cultivation, was launched in Alappuzha district on Thursday. The objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to farmers in cultivating fruits in clusters. Under this scheme, farmers registered on the portal will be provided with A.I.M.S. seedlings. The seedlings provided include varieties such as maw, plantain, banana, mangosteen, dragon fruit, avocado, among others.

To be eligible for this scheme, farmers must have land ranging from 25 cents to one hectare. In addition to seedlings, organic mixture can also be obtained from the Agriculture Office. These organic mixture and seedlings are provided at subsidized rates. The subsidy for this scheme is 60 percent of the total cost incurred by the farmer.
